Also, observe the technique of art blowing with daily demonstrations in the garden.

About the artist
Born in 1941 in Tacoma (WA), Dale Chihuly studied glass art at the University of Washington (1965), Wisconsin (1967), and Rhode Island (1968). In 1968, he moved to Italy and worked at the renewed Venini glass factory (Murano Island, Venice). He learned the art of blowing glass, traveled in Europe, and created many public & private artworks worldwide.

My Highlights
Sealife room
The Sealife room encompasses a 15-foot glass tower and multiple drawings. The Sea is a combination of light and dark blue glasses moving to the ceiling. At the base, golden sea life – starfish, manta rays, conch shells, and octopus – is represented.

Mille Fiori
From the Italian “A Thousand Flowers,” Mille Fiori installation is a large garden of glass inspired by the artist’s mother.

It’s a colorful mix of technique and glass forms.

Ikebana and float boats
These two installations were inspired by childhood memories in Japan (Ikebana boats) and an experiment completed in Finland in 1995. The wooden rowboats are filled with either rounded-shaped glasses or a variety of forms.
